Attending Commencement - Education, Music, Theatre & SNL

Your graduate's commencement activities will take place at the Civic Opera House in downtown Chicago.

Seating for guests is open. No tickets are required, and guests are seated on a first-come first-served basis. In the event of an excessive number of attendees, DePaul University and the Civic Opera House cannot guarantee seating for all.

Guests may enter the Civic Opera House through the main entrance located at the corner of Madison Street and Wacker Drive. Guests will not be allowed to visit with their graduate in front of the Civic Opera House as it will interfere with preparations for other ceremonies.

Guests are asked to demonstrate respect for all graduates and plan to stay for the duration of the ceremony. Each commencement ceremony is expected to last approximately 1½ to 2 hours.

ACCESSIBILITY
The Civic Opera House is a fully handicapped-accessible facility. A team of professional ushers will be on hand to assist all individuals.

Graduates with family members who have special seating needs are asked to please check the box on the on line degree conferral application that asks about special seating requirements. Failure to do so may mean seating is not available.
